Choosing Life Begins with Choosing Love

Early in her pregnancy, Brittany found herself overwhelmed, discouraged, and battling deep depression. She knew she needed help—but didn’t know where to turn.

“I remember being pregnant and thinking, ‘I need help. I cannot do this alone.’”

She searched everywhere for support—online, through doctors’ offices, anywhere she thought she might find help. When nothing seemed to work, something prompted her to search one more time.

That search led her to Embrace Grace at Canyon Hills.

Looking back, Brittany now sees God’s hand clearly at work.

“I did an internet search and Embrace Grace popped up. Looking back, I know that was God. God was leading me to Embrace Grace—it became the catalyst of my journey.”

From the moment Brittany walked into Embrace Grace, she wasn’t met with judgment—she was met with compassion. Women listened to her story, prayed with her, and walked beside her through one of the most vulnerable seasons of her life.

Through the classes and community, Brittany experienced a powerful shift—not just in her circumstances, but in how she saw herself.

“We were reminded that we are daughters of God. That changed everything for me.”

Embrace Grace became part of a larger work God was doing in her heart—a seed planted in faith that God continued to nurture over time.

“Embrace Grace was part of a seed that was planted in me—one that God tended and used to bring me back to Christ.”

Brittany was discipled, gave her heart to the Lord, and was baptized. Later, she began attending Canyon Hills Church, where she continued growing in her faith and discovering her identity in Christ. That same journey impacted her husband, who also came to know the Lord.

Today, Brittany is married, living in North Carolina, and raising her daughter, Camila—now two and a half years old.

“She is honestly such a gift. She’s confident, determined, and very special.”

Brittany’s story is one of more than 50 women who have been supported through Embrace Grace at Canyon Hills—women navigating unplanned pregnancies who have found hope, community, and the love of Jesus.

As we reflect during Sanctity of Life Week, Brittany reminds us that the most powerful response is often the simplest one.

“The best thing you can do is love them like Jesus calls us to—and pray. I’m a firm believer in the power of prayer.”

Choosing life often begins with choosing love—and we’re grateful to be a church that opens our arms wide.
