The Prisoner

"I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’…

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’” Matthew 25:36, 40

Did you know?

The United States has the largest prison population in the world and also the highest incarceration rate. The American criminal justice system holds almost 2.3 million people across the federal, state and local levels. Over 540,000 of these prisoners have not yet been convicted or sentenced. While the United States accounts for about 4 percent of the world’s population, it has more than a third of the estimated number of people serving life sentences.

How can you make a difference?

Transitional Job Training Program

Many individuals coming out of the prison system struggle to re-enter society and need help transitioning back into the workforce. TJT is designed to assist individuals formerly incarcerated with job placement. Participants will be employed and trained in the CityServe Headquarters warehouse. After completing training, leaders will work with employees to find permanent employment.

RESPECT Program

In partnership with CityServe, the RESPECT program provides individuals formerly incarcerated and their loved ones with 6-12 months of free individual and family therapy. Through the program, participants will receive the needed support to strengthen their family unity and be equipped to re-enter the workforce and their community.
